Dr. Ian wants to end your pain before the injury worsens. Let us help restore you. You deserve to live pain-free, enthusiastically, and with confidence.

Conditions Treated at Wellington Family Chiropractic

Chiropractic Care for Back Pain and Low Back Pain

Back pain is commonly treated through chiropractic services. Chiropractors are educated in spine safety and function and understand how to safely align and balance the back. With alignment comes proper movement patterns and improved function, which minimizes pain.

Because our spine supports numerous everyday movements for most of us, our back’s health is vital. Finding safe care should be your first step.

Your back pain may be caused by various factors, including:

  • Disc herniations
  • Back sprains and strains
  • Degenerative joint disease
  • Sciatica

Chiropractic Care for Neck Pain

Remote workers, desk workers, physical laborers, device users, gamers, sports players- the vast majority of us fall into one or more of these categories, and all can be greatly affected by neck pain. If you’re having trouble with neck stiffness or aches, chiropractic methods can target the injury and remedy it.

Dr. Ian has experience helping patients with differing kinds of neck pain, including:

  • Whiplash
  • Pulled muscles
  • Neck pain due to poor posture
  • Pinched nerves
  • Arthritis
  • Sports injuries
  • Herniated discs
  • Degenerative disc disease

Chiropractic Care for Shoulder Pain

Shoulder pain can be due to the joint or the soft tissues surrounding it, but either way, when the shoulder hurts, the most insignificant movements can ruin the day. From sharp pain when dressing, sneezing, or sleeping to throbbing aches when working, exercising, or while at rest, your shoulder pain can impact all aspects of life.

The shoulder joint has an incredible range of motion and is used in various daily movements, making it susceptible to injury. We can help.

Some conditions we can manage include the following:

  • Rotator cuff tendinitis
  • Muscle imbalance
  • Shoulder arthritis
  • Bicep tendinitis
  • Shoulder impingement syndrome or pinched nerves
  • Bursitis
  • Shoulder imbalance and instability

Chiropractic Care for Elbow Pain

Elbow pain is often due to repetitive movements in the wrist and elbow. We often see this occur in athletes who must perform the same motion patterns continuously; however, that’s not always the reason you may have elbow discomfort. Those who work on a computer and those who work in construction are also prone to it. The cause is generally tendinitis (inflammation of the soft tissues).

Through manual therapy and soft tissue work, a chiropractor can alleviate your elbow pain and provide exercises and stretches that strengthen the arm’s tissues so it can better support your needs.

Chiropractic Care for Knee Pain

Our knee joints serve as a hinge to bend the knee, carrying quite a bit of weight. Most of us rely on our knees for many of our lower body movements, such as walking, running, jumping, and kneeling. For those who engage in traditional exercises, knees are an important component. And because of our heavy reliance on them, knees are vulnerable to injury.

Knee pain is usually due to muscular imbalances in the tissues around the knee and is treatable with non-invasive chiropractic techniques.

Chiropractic Care for Hip Pain

Our hip joints are the largest in the body, and we put several demands on them, including a lot of repetitive use. In doing so, hip injuries are common. We see many patients with hip pain and have the solutions to find its root cause.

Some of the hip conditions we successfully treat include:

  • Hip muscle strains
  • Sciatica
  • Tendinitis
  • Bursitis
  • Hip impingement

Chiropractic Care for Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis affects the bottom of the foot and occurs when the tissue that connects the heel to the toes– called the plantar fascia– becomes inflamed. With too much tension on this soft tissue, it can become irritated. We often see it in athletic patients, but it can happen to anyone at all activity levels.

Plantar fasciitis can be very painful, but our Lexington chiropractic clinic has excellent resources to help.

Chiropractic Care for Prenatal

Dr. Ian is well-versed in designing a chiropractic treatment program for pregnant women. Whether you’re in discomfort, have sciatica, can’t sleep comfortably, or want to enhance your birthing experience, we’d love to help support your safe pregnancy.

Chiropractic Care for Sports Injuries

The more pressure we put on our bodies, the more likely they are to become injured, so proactive and preventative care is always smart, especially for active people. However, no matter how strong or flexible you are, physical activity can lead to imbalances and show up as pain or discomfort.

We help sports people of all ages. We know how important your active lifestyle is to you; whether you’re preparing for an event, need help to rehabilitate an injury afterward, or want to perform better, we’re ready to help you reach your goals.

Our Chiropractic Services

Chiropractic techniques are tried-and-true; the methods are non-invasive, safe, and reliable, contributing to a healthy lifestyle and a strong body. We want you to be pain-free, so we’ll find the optimal solutions for your unique needs. We’ll walk you through your treatment plan and give guidance and insight on how to maintain your health.

Common Chiropractic Solutions We Provide

  • Chiropractic adjustments: A manual therapy that targets an injury by employing a thrust over the affected area. Adjustments can quickly reduce pain, increase range of motion, flexibility, and movement, relieve soft tissue inflammation, and more.
  • Active Release Technique (ART): The manipulation of soft tissues and muscles, which breaks down scar tissue in affected areas, diminishing pain and stiffness in the muscles and joints.
  • Neurodynamics: Assessing the nervous system and its relationship with the musculoskeletal system to ensure the correct chiropractic treatments are used.
  • Rehabilitation therapies: Exercises and stretches that help the body find balance and strength to promote safer and faster healing.
